Kiteboarding in Nevis
Posted by: | CommentsToday John and I finally made it to Nevis to go scout out some new kiteboarding spots. Man did we hit the jack pot. There is a beautiful spot at Herberts Beach about a 7 minute drive from the car ferry port. It has endless amount of flat water that is blocked by reef. It has a nice big beach to set up on and beautiful scenery. I had a great session. I was nice and powered on my Prima Donna 3 7m and was riding great. Couldn’t ask for a better day.
Anyone Can do it!!!
Posted by: | CommentsFred had contacted me saying he was coming down on vacation and wanted to kite with me. Sure enough when I met up with Fred on the beach to my surprise he is a 70 year old man. Fred and I had a wonderful kite session together and Fred is doing small jumps. With some tips of mine he started to land them a lot better and I told him I was going to teach him a back roll. He has a few more days and I am excited to see him try a back roll and land them.
People have a big misconception about kiteboarding that it takes a lot of strength and so on. However my oldest student was a 68 year old man and my youngest was an 8 year old girl. Most people definitely have more strength then them so get out there and give it a try.
This sport is for EVERYONE!!!
What’s up with this wind
Posted by: | CommentsThe wind has been acting super weird lately. It has been coming from all directions and not very consistent. I did get to go out for about an hour yesterday and because the wind was south we kited at Cockelshell beach. I received an email from a photographer this morning and he took some shots and posted this on his fine art website. lol.
Take a look.

Sandy Bank
Posted by: | CommentsToday was a great day! I went out to Sandy bank for the first time to teach and do a bit of kiting myself. The wind was blowin and I had some great 20ft to 30ft airs and some nice kiteloops. Michel also had his best session as he was able to stay up wind really well and also learned how to cope with the waves. We had a great laugh as I rode by Michel and said “this spot is awesome” not even a second later I tried to show off and do an s bend, the footstraps weren’t adjusted for my feet and the board flew off and I crashed down hard in a few inches of water and got dragged up the beach. With minor injuries I got up quickly and glanced at Michel as he had a scared reaction which turned into both of us laughing our heads off when he realized I was okay.
Whenever you are kiting close to the beach or in shallow water always take extra precaution.
What a week!!!
Posted by: | CommentsWe are having an amazing week of wind, everyday over 20mph. Its so nice to ride on a 9m or a 7m. The kites respond so much faster and the rush that comes with jumping over 20ft in the air and looping your kite through the power zone is unbeatable. I am really looking forward for the weekend where it will get up to 25mph.
Can’t wait!!!

Gusty Winds
Posted by: | CommentsThe wind was quite gusty today. I was powered on my Prima Donna 13m and out of nowhere this gust just took me and I could barely stop. I had to fall on my bum and slowly get the kite up to 12 o’clock and let the gust pass. I looked behind me and notice some really dark clouds so I depowered my kite and headed back to the beach to land my kite. You always want to make sure that if you see some ugly stuff behind you its always best to head back to the beach and land your kite until the storm passes.
Keep it safe!

He has been kiteboarding for 8 years now and has competed in competitions in the UK. Marco is a fully qualified and licensed IKO level 2 Kiteboarding instructor. I am also looking forward to riding with him as he is a very passionate rider and we can push each other to progress faster. Marco’s easy going attitude and drive to make others succeed made him the perfect addition to St.Kitts kiteboarding.
Welcome aboard Marco!!!
Kiteboarding lessons
Posted by: | CommentsToday was a great day, my lesson Michel amazed me. Michel was doing some water starts. Half way though the lesson Michel gets up and does his first really long tack, he then completes a perfect transition and heads back to the beach and barely looses any downwind. I didn’t even explain anything about transitions and he somehow managed to make one happen all in less then 7 hours of lessons.
Great job Michel!!!
